My son's in Uni, but he is more interested in his Tae Kwan Do. He is chopping blocks like crazy with his bare hands. Says it is necessary to earn him his black belt. I'm afraid he might damage his hands. Besides there is all this time wasted practising his kicks and stuff and not applying to his studies. My wife says his getting his black belt is very important to him." So let him be " she says. I think it is all an ego trip. What am I to do?

Thanks skip. I'll try that, but look what happened today. He broke some boards with his feet and got a bad wound on his right leg. He doesn't seem to mind a bit though. Every time I go to pick him up back from his class, I fear that he might have cracked his hand or feet. Also, his exams are not too far away. This martial arts thing should be banned really.

To avoid confrontation make no direct approach on the matter.Just get it over and done with or maybe tactfully help to create other interests. Keep on smiling
